There's something I've decided to be upfront about — I use Co-pilot every single day.
And lately, I've started telling my clients that too.
When a client asks me a question and I turn to Co-pilot to find the answer, I say so. It might sound like a small thing, but it's changed how I work and how my clients experience working with me.
Co-pilot is genuinely good at digging up references buried deep in help centres — even the ones I know well. The summaries are fast and, when I've prompted well, they're clear and accurate.
But I don't just copy and paste what it gives me. I always check. I always modify. And I often prompt multiple times before I'm happy with the result. It's a tool, not a replacement for knowing what you're doing.
When something useful comes back, I'll say to a client: "Co-pilot gave a great summary on that" or "The Co-pilot summary matched the help article exactly." That transparency seems to land well. Clients appreciate knowing how I got there — it actually builds trust rather than undermining it.
Here's the thing: it's estimated that around half of professionals are still resisting AI tools altogether. I understand the hesitation. There's an instinct to feel like using AI somehow diminishes the work, or that admitting you used it makes you look less capable.
I think the opposite is true.
Hiding your AI use doesn't make your work look better — it just makes you less transparent. And in a business built on trust, like ours, transparency matters.
At Living Business, we're on an AI journey — and we're sharing it openly. This isn't the first time we've talked about it, and it won't be the last. Whether it's Co-pilot helping me navigate WorkflowMax, find a payroll reference, or draft a summary for a client, these tools are helping us reclaim time and give better, faster answers.
The goal has never been to automate the relationship. It's to have more of our attention available for the things that matter most — our clients.
Don't hide your AI use. Own it.
It's a valuable tool for reclaiming time, and your clients will appreciate the transparency and clarity that comes with it.
This post is part of our ongoing AI Journey series. Follow along as we share what's working, what isn't, and what we're learning along the way.
